ABOUT THE FARM.
This lot comes from the Alto Inambari valley, in the province of Sandia, where around 25 smallholder farmers grow coffee between 1,850 and 2,100 metres above sea level. The variety is Typica, grown in agroforestry systems under the shade of native trees, which helps preserve biodiversity and keep the ecosystem in balance.
The harvest is done by hand between September and November, picking only cherries at their optimal ripeness. The coffee is washed, which brings out cleaner, more defined profiles in keeping with its origin and variety.
The way the producers are organised makes collective work during harvest and post-harvest easier, improving the consistency of the lot and allowing greater control over the quality and traceability of the coffee.
ABOUT THIS COFFEE.
The Puno region, in southern Peru, lies on the eastern slopes of the Andes, in a transition zone towards the Amazon. Here coffee is grown in mountain conditions, where altitude and microclimate directly shape how the cherries ripen and how the profile comes through in the cup.
Coffee is mainly produced on a small scale, by farmers working family plots with traditional practices and agroforestry systems that preserve biodiversity. This approach keeps the growing environment stable and makes coffee part of a development model for producing communities, especially in areas where access to markets has historically been limited.
